The Rivie is the headland between Collieston Harbour and Cransdale, and owned by the village. The land was bought from Slains Estate some years ago, with the aim of building a new village hall on the site, but a funding application was unsuccessful.
Formerly managed by Collieston and Slains Community Trust, a new group was established in 2018 to direct the Rivie’s future development. Collieston Community Development Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation whose purpose is to develop the Rivie as a sustainable, recreational space for the local and wider community to enjoy.
